Cancel a Service

Cancelling stops future billing. What happens to the server and its data depends on which cancellation option you choose.

Where to cancel

Open the service in the dashboard and use the cancel action there, this opens a cancellation request rather than deleting anything instantly, giving you a chance to confirm and giving support a chance to catch anything unusual (like a cancellation on a service with an open, unrelated support issue).

Immediate vs end-of-period cancellation

  • End of billing period: the service keeps running, and you keep access, until the period you already paid for ends, then it is terminated. This is the right choice in almost every case, you already paid for that time.
  • Immediate: the service is terminated right away. Choose this only if you specifically need the server gone now, for example a compliance or security reason, since it does not refund the unused remainder of the period.

What happens to your data

Once a service is terminated, its data is deleted and cannot be recovered afterward, cancellation is not a way to "pause" a server, there is no way to reactivate a terminated service with its old data intact. If there is any chance you will want the data again, take a final backup or snapshot before cancelling, not after.

Refunds

Cancellation itself does not automatically refund anything already paid, refund eligibility depends on the specific service and how recently it was purchased, covered in our terms. If you believe a refund applies to your situation, open a support ticket rather than assuming cancellation handles it.

Take a final backup before you cancel, not after. Once a service is terminated the data goes with it, that is the one step in this process that cannot be undone.
