Upgrading a service applies immediately and bills only for the difference in the time remaining on your current cycle, not the new plan's full price.
How the charge is calculated
The system compares your current plan's price to the new plan's price, prorated for the days left in the billing cycle, and charges only that difference. If you are ten days into a thirty-day cycle, you are charged for roughly twenty days' worth of the price difference, not the new plan's full monthly rate.
What happens to the server
A VPS or dedicated server upgrade (more RAM, CPU or disk) applies to the existing server, no reinstall, no new IP, no data loss. Depending on what changed, a brief reboot may be required to apply new resource limits, the upgrade flow tells you upfront whether this particular change needs one.
Downgrades work differently
Downgrading is more constrained than upgrading, particularly for disk space, you cannot shrink storage below what is already in use. If a downgrade is not available directly for that reason, free up disk space first, or open a support ticket if you are unsure why a specific downgrade path is not offered.
When the change takes effect
Upgrades apply immediately once the prorated invoice is paid, there is no waiting for the next billing cycle. This is different from some hosts that only apply plan changes at renewal, on Corenzy you get the new resources the moment payment clears.
An upgrade is priced to be fair mid-cycle, you are never paying twice for the same days of service on two different plans.
